Look Out Chicago...Here We Come!
Just recently the Boone family, the Wiesley family, and the Lokers family jumped in our cars and headed to Chicago for a long weekend. Our first stop was Shaumberg, Illinois. This stop included Legoland Discovery Zone!

To add some fun to the event, I made personalized t-shirts for the kids.

Inside all of the statues were created by Legos...it was very cool!
We even watched a 4-D movie.
Albert and Charles are very excited to watch the 4-D movie too!
Throughout the building there were quite a few different spots to visit. One of my favorites was the Lego Workshop where the kids got to build a sea turtle made from legos. An instructor used a document camera to display each step of the process. I was so excited for the boys to build it because it was too cute. As soon as we sat down Carter opened the bag full of the legos needed to build the turtle and they poured all over the table. As the instructor completed each step he asked that each builder give him a thumbs up when they were ready to move onto the next step. The final product was super cool however they tell you after you build it that the turtle costs $5 to take home. We packed ours back up and sent it back to be "released into the ocean".

The boys favorite part of the day was creating race cars and then racing them down a track. Bob helped the boys build some really cool cars. I think that they could have stayed there until the employees locked up that night.

We are off to the races!
Next, we stopped by the part of the place called the factory. Inside this room was a mini replica of how the legos are created. The boys listened very intently to the presentation because the presenter promised a lego for them to take home at the very end. The boys have been playing with that lego ever since.

After a long day at Legoland, we all went back to our hotel and spent some time in the pool. This pool was great because the temperature was so warm and for the most part we were the only ones in it.
Greta loved being in the water. She wore the goggles as an accessory and it looked good on her!

Saturday morning we ate breakfast at the hotel and headed downtown to continue our adventure...stay tuned for what happened next!
