Surprise vacation

In years past, Bob and I have chosen to either not get each other Christmas presents or just go on a "date night" together.  This year on December 1st Bob surprised me with a mini vacation getaway to Cancun, Mexico.  I was very nervous to leave the boys but Maw Maw, Angie, and Katie came to our house to watch them.  

We stayed at the Hyatt Ziva in Cancun.  It was a beautiful resort.  Early morning we walked the beach. The water was so blue but it was very windy.

On the property there was a lighthouse.  We climbed up the rocks and explored.  It was absolutely beautiful listening to the waves crash into the rocks.

We ate so much!  Breakfast close to the beach was great!

This is proof that on our mini vacation…I read a whole book!  

Bob spent the afternoons jumping in the ocean waves, playing water polo and volleyball with the hotel guests.  I spent the the afternoons sitting on the chairs, sipping cool beverages, and reading books in the sun!  Life is good!

It was such a wonderful time that we got to spend together!  We spent lots of time just getting a chance to talk…having a conversation without interruptions.  This is definitely something that we will have to do annually!

While we were away, the boys had a ball.  They played so hard everyday.  Maw Maw took them to park to ride their plasma cars down the sidewalk.

Each day they opened little gifts from Bob and I.  Here is Landon creating a monster with his "monster putty".

The weather was warm enough for them to be outside.  Thanks Maw Maw, Angie, and Aunt Katie for keeping the boys happy and safe!
