More fun this summer

My favorite thing to do at the beginning of the summer is our summer bucket list.  Each year they get so excited making the list as they remember fun times we had last summer.

One of our first things we like to do is pick strawberries.  We asked our friends, The Hanney's, to come with us.  They had never been picking before so we were excited to share this experience with them.

It's always a hoot to get out to the strawberry fields and watch the kids get started because they are so serious about which ones they choose to pick.  We had to sample so many to make sure they were ripe. Delicious!  Nothing sweeter than a fresh picked strawberry.

If this photo doesn't scream summer...I don't know what does! We were the best strawberry picking team this side of the Mississippi!

Of course there has to be a lot of silliness going on too...there was a strawberry fight, bucket hats, and strawberry lipstick application.

After we finished picking we headed over to Mill Hollow to show our friends one of our favorite spots.  The water was moving pretty quickly but that didn't stop those kids from jumping in and throwing rocks.

Carter lucked out and had a leech stuck to his second toe.  He pulled it off and we all took an up close look at it on a log.  It was pretty amazing.
It was a great day full of adventure with our friends the Hanney's.

Many nights have been spent at the ball field this summer.  In Carter's player pitch league, each player is required to pitch at least two innings during the season.  Carter got his chance to pitch and he did well.  He looked so grown up out there on the mound.  He made some great plays and even struck out a batter.

Landon loves to watch his big brother play baseball along with sharing bags and bags of popcorn with his daddy.

Every moment we get the chance to enjoy our neighbors beautiful pool we do.  Many days we are over there two or three times.

I love relaxing by the pool with a book while the boys are splashing around in the summer sunshine.

Nolan decided to wear a baseball hat of Carters and it was just too cute.

We discovered a new place we hadn't been to before: The Avon Lake Public Library.  Right next to the library was a nature hike through the woods.  It was a beautiful path and we even saw a deer relaxing in the grass.

These crazy boys love to explore the outdoors.

Inside the library there is this special science discovery place kind of like a mini Cosi.  The boys were in heaven trying out all the experiments and activities.

This is definitely a place we were excited to find and a place we will definitely come back to.
