Summer vacation part II

The vacation continues with more hiking and fun...
Our boys were up early and ready for the day. Poor Aubrey and Hailey just wanted to sleep in a little. Sorry girls.

What happens when you are the last to get up for breakfast, no more clean bowls.  Cereal in a cup works just fine!
Tyler has been having a hard time getting water on his face and we were so lucky he got up enough courage to jump in!  He was so proud of himself!

The kids were anxious to take the Hammer kids on a nature hike. We traveled over to Beartown State Park.  The roads up to the trail head were crazy.  Full of pot holes! We stopped and hiked up to the Lookout at Vista Point.

After the lookout point, we headed down the trail to the pond.  It was a little crazy full of bugs.  Carter and Bob got into a bee hive in the ground and ended up getting stung a few times.

The view of the pond was beautiful!

The water in the pond was so clear, a little chilly, but nice and refreshing!

Such a great group of fun kids!!!

At night we would try and relax and recoup for the next day, so I would massage the kids feet and hands.  We even busted out these silly orange eye patches to relax.  It was so funny watching how much they were looking forward to these nightly routines.

The next morning we ventured out to find ourselves a waterfall.
Such a great bunch of hikers!!

The trail looked almost as if we were inside the rainforest. The ground was covered in ferns and the trees were so tall and skinny.

Along the trail we came upon a state line marker so we couldn't help but grab photos of them in two states at one time.
One foot in Massachusetts and....
The other foot in Connecticut.

After about a 20 minute hike, we could hear the roar of rushing water. We then walked up to this amazing waterfall. What an incredible place to have all to ourselves.
Could this be any cuter? Carter loves his littlest brother so much
The kids were so brave to climb the waterfall.
This is my favorite photo from the falls.  We all climbed up as high as we could to put our heads under the falling water.

Hailey slipped while climbing and fell into the water.  She was shocked at first but without hesitation Aubrey jumped in right after her and they were all smiles.  Such good sisters!

Waterfall selfie! I love his willingness to always explore new places and create new adventures together.
After the hike, we spent some time playing Guess Who?  Everyone was playing at the same time.

The boys loved our big jacuzzi bathtub and mirror.  There were lots of bubbles and dance parties.

We had so much fun the day prior at a waterfall that we decided we needed to seek out another one.
This waterfall was so different because the rock formation was so unique.  It was almost sideways.  It was neat to look at but a little tricky and risky to climb.
Didn't stop these spider monkeys

Squeezing us all in the group selfie...so lucky to have these amazing people in our life.

On our way home from Massachusetts, we made a stop at Niagara Falls.  This was the kids first time ever being there.

We stopped to snag a group photo on our walk through town.

Carter and Landon loved asking questions about going over the fall in a barrel.  I was happy to see the guardrails in front of the falls because I had scary daydreams of chasing the boys away from the edge.
Amy and her cute little baby bump (arrives September 30)
Nolan and his silly face with Bob
After we were at the falls we had dinner at Rainforest Cafe.  This was awesome because the kids were so close to the animals.
Tyler loved riding in the car with the boys.
What a fun vacation full of memories made with family and friends.
