Thanksgiving with Grandma Grocho and choosing our Christmas tree

We often drive down to the lodge in Hocking Hills for thanksgiving with the Hornak side of the family but due to Covid we had a change in plans.  We were able to drive down to Bucyrus to spend Thanksgiving with Grandma Grocho and aunt Lori.  Per the request of the boys we had spaghetti, garlic toast, salad, and lots of desserts instead of the traditional Thanksgiving meal but it was just perfect for all of us.  After eating and visiting with everyone we helped bring up the Christmas decorations and help make their new home festive.  Grandma had a smile on her face the whole time and spent any moment hugging up on any boy that would be willing to squeeze her up.

I think that this might be how we spend our Thanksgiving from now on. It was just what we all needed.

Black Friday morning is the day that we all bundle up and head out to our local tree farm (Wilcox Tree Farm in Grafton, OH) to pick out and cut down a tree.  I wanted to grab a tree that we could keep the roots balled up so that we could plant it in the backyard after Christmas but they decided not to offer that this year (bummer).  The temperature outdoors along with the blister wind made the experience chilly but very quick!  The girls joined us this time and were excited to be outside sniffing all things and being loved by all the customers too!

A holiday tradition that I look forward to each year with the boys!
