Landon Band Concert and Carter Choir Concert

The holiday season brings about many fun events including band and choir concerts.  This year Landon is participating in the band playing clarinet.  Carter participates in choir and had a solo speaking part. Let it be known that for each of these performances there was a strict dress code from shirt, pants, and shoes and you all know how hard it is to get these boys to wear anything but comfy athletic gear so it was a time-consuming shopping experience for me.

Cheese ball!

Here he is standing with his instrument.  He spotted us in the crowd and was full of smiles.  To be honest, I am not sure if he actually played any of the notes or just pretended during the concert but oh well.
Carter was over the moon excited to participate in his performance.  He loves to sing.

There he is front and center and I would be lying if I didn't tell you that I could hear his voice over many of this classmates throughout the whole performance.  My favorite part was after they all came out and found their place on the risers I noticed him taking in the number of people in the crowd.  He took a moment and calmed himself by taking big deep breaths that we could see from our seats and he knocked it out of the park from that point forward.  I am always so happy to see the kids use mindful practices in the moment to self-regulate their emotions.

We are so proud of both boys.
