Rain, rain go away! (Summertime Fun Week five)

The weather this summer continues to be wet and soggy!  We have been mastering rainy day activities!
Carter is a Lego Master Builder of many different things!

One afternoon it started to pour down rain and the boys wanted to run in the rain!  Of course I say!  It was so funny watching them splashing in the puddles!

Thank goodness for a large empty box.  The kids played in this thing for hours.  They would climb in it and pretend to sleep, stand up in it and push each other over, and they even made it into a box man.

On Thursday, the Amherst Library was hosting an event with a juggler.  It was fun to see what this guy could do.  As you can see from this photo…he was a bit cheesy!  Carter has the protective grip on his brothers as Landon looks a little frightened! At the end of his performance, the kids were encouraged to try out his equipment.  This ended up being mass chaos as over 60 small children grab scarves, chinese yo yo's, peacock feathers, jacky sacks, sticks, and plastic plates.

Landon was very determined to get this going.  I was impressed because usually with something new that is difficult he quickly gives up.  He played with his the whole time! He reminds me that he was better at this than Carter was!

Nolan was so hard to keep track of in this group because he wanted to do it all and had no idea what he was doing.  It ended up with me apologizing to many mothers who had been bumped or hit with sticks or flying balls.  Yet this picture reflects his pride in himself…future juggler.

Rainy days mean…a trip to Kiwi Spoon.  This is a make your own frozen yogurt shop.  The kids love going here because they get to choose what toppings go on their ice cream.  Their concoctions tend to gross me out as they mix it all up!

Friday was the first dry day of the week so we jumped in the car and drove to the Cleveland Zoo!  Alissa, Mari, and Max met us there!  Carter and Landon asked if they could take pictures of the animals as we walked around.  I thought this was great…moments later as the boys were taking pictures of everything and walking into other people because they were looking through the camera viewfinder I changed my mind.  Later I looked and Landon had taken over 144 photos on my phone while we were in the monkey house…we might need to enroll them in a photography course!

I love how cute they are looking for the animals!

We walked the zoo from about 10:01am until 2pm.  At 2pm the meltdowns began and this is when I begin to sprint to the car because it gets ugly fast.  After the zoo, I drove down to Bucyrus to help Mom at the garage sale.  Landon and Nolan slept quite a bit in the car due to being exhausted from the zoo.

Grandma and Grandpa Grocho came over during the garage sale.  Landon helped Grandpa put together a firetruck puzzle.

On Saturday we drove down to Aunt D's house in Columbus.  We stopped at our favorite Goodwill store in Delaware where Carter found this great wooden checkers game.  It was so cute watching them play together.  Don't worry it didn't last long because they were quickly punching each other and pulling hair over who jumped who.
Sunday morning Danielle and Edd took us to The World of Bounce to jump out some energy.  The kids had a blast.  Everyone was pretty sweaty as we got back into the car.
