Christmas trip to Florida

We are always looking for a fun little getaway over Christmas break.  Danielle and her family using meet us somewhere warm but they had visitors this year and were unable to join us.  That didn't stop us from going though!   We jumped on the earliest flight ever...our departure time was 5am so it was a very early morning for all of us.

The luxury of an early flight means that you get to your destination early and can enjoy that whole day unless you get to the resort before you can check in.  We spent a few hours poolside because we couldn't get into our room and many of us slept the morning away.

Bob was eager to jump in the pool and hot tub with the boys.

Maw Maw took the boys putt-putting.

We headed over to BW3's to watch the World Cup Soccer game on the large projection screens.

Bob spiked a fever the first night into the second day so we quarantined him off in one of the rooms and we continued to soak up all the fun. The resort was on a golf course so we walked the course to enjoy the weather.

They found golf balls along the way and began to make a game out of it...throw the golf ball like a baseball but on the golf course.

To get the cheap rates at the resort we had to attend a time share meeting...Bob was still in a big fever zone but they would not allow him to reschedule or we would have to pay the difference of the resort price so he toughed it out!

That night while Bob tried to get better, Maw Maw and I took the boys over to Disney Springs to shop, eat, and explore.

Once Bob started to be his normal self we took the kids to Universal Studios as one of their Christmas presents.

Hogwarts at Night had an amazing light show on the castle.

The next day we went down poolside and played BINGO.  Landon won a bag of candy.

Another experience gift for Christmas was 9 holes at the resort golf course!

Lastly, we went over to the little amusement park in Orlando for Carter to do the tallest ripcord experience in the world.

Bob and I did it with him...it was a blast.

Go-karts for the win

The next morning we jumped in the car and drove to Clearwater Beach. It was so cold and the water was super chilly but that didn't stop the boys.

The pool was super heated.

Landon was super happy to get crab legs for dinner even if it was from Hooters.

The hotel featured many fun activies for the kids...Mario Kart Tournament. Carter and Landon won prizes for that.

Then we headed back up to Orlando to jump on the plane to head home on Christmas Eve except a snow storm came through and no planes were flying into Ohio.  So that meant we stayed in the hotel in Orlando and celebrated Christmas there.

We ventured out to Walmart Christmas Eve where everyone got $15 to spend on a "white elephant" gift exchange.

Then Christmas day we walked over to the theatre and watched Puss In Boots together as a family.

Chinese food for dinner on Christmas.
It was a great vacation and we made the best out of all the setbacks.
