Week Ten: Quarantine May 19-24
This was the start of Bob's second week of MULA (mandatory unpaid leave of absence). This came at a great time for me because I am still teaching and having IEP zoom meetings and such. He was able to step in and help out with the boys last week of homeschooling and online learning.
Nolan found a pair of skateboarding gloves that he has been wearing from sun up to sun down for a few days and it is cracking us up! Here he is wearing them while he enjoys his lunch!

The boys were so excited to show Bob the side of Mill Hollow that we haven't ventured with him before.
Always have to find a walking stick or our nature hike isn't complete!
We had a lot of rain so the river was very high! Too high to kayak or wade into this time.
Nolan and Landon worked very hard to chop down bamboo to create a path to get through.
As we were leaving we spotted a fox walking around by the tree line. It was so cute.
The word on the street is that they might open up the older boys baseball season so Bob was so eager to get them swinging. He set up this in the garage so the boys could practice.
Nolan was interested in hitting also however only if he could wear his helmet and swing the toilet plunger.
Nolan's last class Zoom meeting this week was bitter sweet for him. He doesn't enjoy them at all and it is hard to keep him engaged. This meeting his teacher dressed up in a silly disguise and he enjoyed it more!
Everyday Monday-Thursday I have been teaching live to my students on Facebook Live. This is the last week that I will be doing this because we start lots of professional development and it requires a lot of my time when I would be teaching. Each day this week I taught dressed up in some silly costume.
On Thursday we headed down to the Lodge in Hocking Hills to use it as a getaway trip. Maw Maw met us there and Paw Paw stopped down for a bit too! It was just what we needed to relax and recharge.
They had a record high level of rain so the rivers and streams were high and flowing very fast! Everything was so muddy but we love getting dirty so that didn't bother us one bit!!!
Leo love every minute of it! He spent time outdoors exploring and sniffing everything!
He was a running maniac all over the place and the picture below shows him right after he leaped into the algae-covered pond and had to doggy paddle his way out!
Dinner outdoors watching the sunset!
These boys are my world! I wish I could keep them in my arms forever!
Hold on tight, it's gonna get crazy!
Paw Paw was grinning through teeth of fear because I was behind the wheel!
In a puddle from the four-wheeler, there were tons of tadpoles. The boys loved grabbing them out of the puddle and putting them in a bucket to watch.
Leo loved all the hiking we did on the property!
This is a rock formation on the property that the boys have named "Tight Mans Squeeze" because of how narrow it is.
We found a toad on our hike and Landon was brave enough to wear it on his head!
On the property there was a huge deep crack in the Earth and the boys loved jumping down in it and exploring all the roots that you could see in the dirt.
We just about wore out Leo everyday!
A few of the nights ended with a bonfire and roasted marshmallows!
Even some early morning fires helped to set the tone of relaxation for the day!
The boys love being on the four wheeler with Bob!
When we returned home the sun was shining hot so the next day I took the boys to Sherod Park in Vermilion. We are lake people so swimming and dipping our toes in the water is where it is at!!
This was Leo's first time at the lake and he loved digging in the sand and sunning himself. We had to keep him away from the dead fish though!
Landon loves to be buried in the sand!
Memorial Day evening we went to a cookout at one of our neighbor's houses (The Percival's). They hosted the evening with hotdogs and brats and everyone brought something to share. Between these five families we have 14 boys and 2 girls! They all get along so well and are very close in age. This will be a great group of kids to watch grow up together!
There are all the sweet mamas of these lovely kids!
The evening came to a close as the kids used sparklers together as the sun went down!
Ready or not summer, here we come!!!
