Week Eleven: Quarantine May 25-31

The boys have always wanted to grow out their hair and this quarantine time presented the best time to give it a whirl. Well, it is determined that is not something they enjoyed as much as they hoped so as soon as Great Clips opened back up we made an appointment.  They had to wear masks while getting their hair cut and that was not fun at all.  This new "norm" will take some adjusting on all of our parts.

Popsicles and water fun at the Percival house!

On to water balloon fights in our backyard...

We have turned the temperature down in the hot tub and added ice cubes to help make it a refreshing place to splash around in.

This week we had to pick up/drop off school items as the buildings and that was such a tough way to end the year.  Both Carter and Landon earned the honor roll awards that would have been presented to them at a large ceremony but this year their awards were in their brown paper bags at pick up.  It didn't seem to phase them at all so that is great.  Carter earned all A's each grading period and Landon earned all A's and B's.  Hard-working boys for sure!!

This season has been tough for Nolan with his seasonal allergies.  It has never been this bad before but he is often stuffed up, sneezing, and his eyes are puffy and swollen.

The boys and I broke away from the house to try and give Bob a chance to take a work call without interruptions and headed to the lake.  It was our first trip to our local ice cream shop in Vermilion: Granny Joe's.

I am trying so hard to make the end of the school year fun for my students but boy has it been tough!!  I snagged these fun flower spinners and wrote positive affirmations on each one and secretly dropped them off at each of their houses!  Man, do I miss them all!!!!

The boys are officially done with school and here are their last day of school photos!

Nolan was invited over for a dinner date at the Percival's.  Tacos were on the menu and Nolan wanted to go so bad however he doesn't enjoy tacos (only because he is too stubborn to try them). He said to me, "Mom, I guess I could go over and just listen to their dinner conversations."  He cracks me up!  Turns out he does like tacos and queso dip!!

The little free library has been visited so frequent during this time since the libraries in the area have been closed.  I have been switching out books and adding fun little snacks or gifts for kids to grab when they stop by.

Saturday morning I woke up to these three gray hairs sticking right out of the part in my hair! One gray hair for each boy!!!

It was a beautiful day and we needed some "family time" so we headed over to Castalia Fish Hatchery to toss bread to the fish. Maddie Bauer and Jill-Bob met us there to enjoy the fun.

Next, we went over to East Harbor Beach to feed the seagulls and have a picnic lunch.

There is no sandy beach left this summer.  We had to stand on the break wall to throw in rocks.

Check out Bob's Quarantine Look...thankfully we still love him a lot!

The sun felt good but the wind was chilly.

Landon and Maddie created a "sand castle" together.

To finish out the day, we decided to fish in the pond at East Harbor.  Paw Paw helped the boys get started with their rods.

Nolan caught a cute little fish!

Kissing the fish!

Landon caught a fish too!

It was a great way to end the weekend!
