June 1-7...phasing back into the world
The boys have been giddy with the chance to fish so we connected with our friends to fish at a local park. We showed up with 10 kids from the ages of 11-3 with poles, worms, hot dogs, and fishing hooks. I was so impressed with how well they all did together with hooks at close proximity! Every one of the kids caught a fish at some point during the day.
Landon loves spending time with sweet Gabe.
After fishing we braved the Vermilion River at Mill Hollow.
The current was moving quite quickly as we crossed.
Leo is stretching out and getting taller.
There were a few cooler evenings so the boys opened up the camper and slept out in the backyard together!
Over quarantine not only have the little boys been growing out their hair but Bob had used this time to grow out his facial hair. As he approaches the time where we can get back out in the world, he has been experimenting with all the different ways he can wear his facial hair. If you are wondering which is my favorite...none of them...none of them are my favorite.
This was the last week of "school" for my kindergarteners. We spent the last zoom call sharing our favorite kindergarten memory and watching a photo montage of all the pictures. I got so emotional watching these memories and realizing how many we missed together since we were quarantine at home.
Meredith cut a cross in Nolan's hair one evening and that sparked the interest in Carter so Bob carved a lightning bolt in the back of his hair.
Baseball season is open and the boys are pumped. We started the season with a tournament in Huron. It was some tough competition with teams that had been practicing over time apart. It was so exciting to have the chance to be out together watching the boys play! Thankfully it was outdoors and currently, the spread of the virus is very low here in our area so people are out and about together again.
Our school district hosted a "Farewell Parade" for the students and families to drive through and see their teachers one last time before summer. I dressed up like a pineapple. It was the hottest day of the summer so far...wow was I sweating!
On National Doughnut Day, we grabbed doughnuts and headed to the beach in Vermilion with all of our friends. The kids had a blast digging and burying each other in the sand.
Landon has been looking forward to the chance to pitch and got his debut this weekend. He did a great job on the mound!!!
So happy to be back out on the baseball field!!!
