Beep, beep goes the struggle bus
Right now this whole parenting thing is exhausting...
Carter is currently testing us every chance he gets with his attitude and sarcasm. I give him credit for thinking things through but at times it takes everything in me to not yell out, "Stop being a smart ass!"
Yep, this is a dinner plate full of rocks by Carter's bed, the reason is yet to be known?
Landon has taken being a "picky" eater to the next level. He refuses to try anything new and judges every meal by what it looks like. Last night Bob made homemade mac and cheese, Landon said he wouldn't take a bite. That kid sat for over an hour at the kitchen table while the rest of us ate, cleaned up dinner plates, and began watching a movie together. I hope that his strong will ends up helping him later in life but right now it's giving me gray hair.
Nolan is so "matter a fact" with information right now. At dinner, he out of now where says, "Mom, did you know everyone has butt cheeks?"
Why is it that all boys enjoy doing is wrestling and rough housing with each other? It baffles me. They can be in the middle of a board game, a long book, pouring cereal for breakfast and within minutes they are all rolling round on top of each other in the living room. It always ends up in someone getting hurt or something getting broken but it is inevitable that it is going to happen so it's not worth the energy of stopping it.
Lots of deep breaths and laughs seem to get me through these moments in life.

Just when I think it's only the boys that are making me nuts, I came home from my doctor's appointment to find my van stuck in the mud along side the house. He was trying to put the camper in the back yard for the winter but it turns out the grass was a little more wet than he thought. I pulled in and he already had the rubber car mats under the front two tires as an attempt to get some friction going. I learned a life lesson that day: the "rocking technique". Bob taught be how to gently put the van in reverse and then quickly jam it into drive and give it some gas. After a few tries and Bob covered in mud, I managed to master the "rocking technique". Our poor neighbors now have more evidence that we are hillbillies.
