2017 Lodge River Raft Trip
The time has come to return to the Lodge for our annual river raft trip down the Hocking River. We are always so giddy to head down to the Lodge to be with family and enjoy the outdoors.
Bob was all time pitcher to many games of wiffleball with the kids. They played together from sun up to sun down...you name it they played it. Wiffleball, soccer, hide and seek, tag, etc.
Teri made everyone t-shirts this year for our voyage. It's the second annual trip.
Riding the trails with Bob
James loves taking all the kids out on the trails
When they weren't outside playing they were inside playing games together.
It is always so much fun seeing how well they all play well together!
Squeezing on Maylee!
Our family is always interested in the "next best thing" and this occasion it was the instapot pressure cooker. Brian and Teri brought theirs and we cooked chicken breasts, soup, and much more. Needless to say, I had a pressure cooker arriving at my doorstep early the next week!
Before our voyage down the river we all gathered for a photo using Chad's high tech drone!
Our usual take off point was flooded with water so the boys found another location that they had to cut down lots of brush. We heard lots of grunting as they were trimming down the bushes. We all headed down and jumped in and on a raft to headed down the river.
Look at this jam packed raft! Maylee even made it down the river! There is a cooler in the middle of the raft and Edd is the only one with a paddle!
Nolan and I started out on the pink flamingo. The funny thing about the voyage is how much rafting hopping the kids do. They love to try them all out!
This photo is a perfect depiction of Sharon's rafting experience. The swam raft was hard to navigate. It seemed the long neck always was in the way. She tried to ride it frontwards straddling the neck, backwards with a paddle, and on her belly. We got to laughing so hard watching and trying to help her out!
Chad is loving life on the duck!
Avery spent the ride with Teri on the pineapple
Brian and James were a great team in the canoe!
Erin was a trooper who paddled several kids down the river on her own!
Pizza float became the snack shack!
The ride home is always a lot of fun!
We are so happy and blessed to be able to spend time together with our family!
