Carter joins Bob for bring your kid to work day!

This is Bob putting in this entry. I was so excited to take Carter with me for take your kid to work day.   It is meant for 3rd grade and above, but we thought we would give it a try. At my office, they really do a great job of pulling together a meaningful day for the kids. We have about 600 employees in our building, so there ended up being a nice group of kids (probably 100+). Carters day was filled with:
- opening ceremony

- fitness instruction from our wellness center
 - and since we are a large manufacturing company, they taught the kids about assembly lines and had them  come up with process improvements for how to improve the efficiency of assembling cars made of candy.
- Last, but not least... He spent a lot of time discussing Pokémon with Sam, my bosses son who was also a 2nd grader.   After the scheduled events ended he joined me for a team meeting where we happened to have our entire team in town for the week. At the beginning of the meeting we had everyone introduce themself. When it was his turn, he stood up and confidently introduced himself to the 20+ people in the room. He talked about being in 2nd grade and how he enjoys baseball, soccer, and basketball. He also mentioned he enjoys Pokémon.
I will say that spending this day with him helped me to see some of his most mature qualities. He is just growing up so quick!!  Some of the people on the team where I'm at today were peers of mine 8 years ago when he was born. They just couldn't believe what they were seeing. The last time they saw him he wasn't walking yet.

This was truly a great day!
