Whirlwind weekend: Trout Release, 10 miler, and Nolan turns 2!

Each year, Vermilion hosts a trout release. This is where the local fish hatchery brings 26, 000 baby rainbow trout to be shot out of a tube into the Vermilion River.  It is a very cool event that I look forward to each year.  During Art class, all students create a poster that tells the story of the journey of the trout from the river to Lake Erie.  It is judged by local employees of City Hall.  We found out on Wednesday that Carter had won first prize for Kindergarten!  We kept it a secret until Friday morning when they announced that he had won he was in shock.  This meant that not only would he get a fishing pole but he got the chance to place some fish into the river too!

On Saturday, Bob and I had signed up to run in the Cleveland 10 miler.  Our new year's resolution was to run a race together!
Here we are together ready to run!!!

Danielle ran the 10 miles and at the end of the race she chugged a carton of chocolate milk…just like our Dad always told us to do!

Here's the crew before the race...
Here we are post-race!
Check out the skyline in the background…boo yah!

After the race, we came back to the house to celebrate Nolan's 2nd birthday.  I am shocked by how quickly this little guy is growing up.  With him being the third, the little moments often get overlooked due to the business of the everyday life.  Now that he getting older and more vocal, he is letting his voice be heard.
This picture touches my heart. This is my Grandmother holding Nolan and teaching him how to tell everyone that he is "two" years old. Oh, how she loves all over her grandchildren!

Aunt Katie and Jeremy got Nolan a face painting kit.  It was a huge hit!  So many of the kids wanted to have their faces painted.

After blowing out the candle, Nolan decided to eat the candle!  Too silly!

Check out this GQ pose from Landon!  Heart Breaker!
Every year on their birthday we measure them on the homemade growth chart to see how much they have grown!  This little guy is getting taller!
Here come the terrible two's!!!
