Basketball

This year both Carter and Landon played basketball again at the YMCA.  Bob was the coach of Landon's team.  This was great!  Landon loved having Bob there and he really did a great job this year.  He was more interested in shooting and dribbling this year than he was before.  Alissa and Phil Truax's daughter, Mari, was also on the team with Landon.

 This year Carter was on the older team.  I was amazed by the skill of many of the boys that were the same age as Carter.  Carter was very frustrated that he couldn't make a basket consistently.  He is a perfectionist and was so worried about making sure he did everything exactly right.  He would dribble so slow as he watched the ball to make sure it was still there.

If the object of the game was to be the first person to the other end of the court, Carter would win every time but clearly that isn't the most important part of the game.

While guarding the opponent, Carter would often talk and distract the player and forget that there was a game going on around them.

Basketball may not be Carter's first love but I was happy to see him improve as the season went on.  Landon was a baller and Nolan kept trying to make his way to the court to play too!
