Fourth of July
Midst the craziness of unpacking we took some time to enjoy the Fourth of July! We packed up the kids and made it to the Lakeview Beach to watch the fireworks over the lake. Before kids Bob and I used to walk to this park from our first home. As we watched the bursts of colors explode in the air we talked about how it feels like just yesterday we were here doing this alone and now we are there with 3 more people. How quickly life can change...you can be sure I shed a tear over that realization.
I am always looking for something new and fun to do with the kids. I found a strawberry planting kit. It includes these dirt discs that expand when you add water. What a stinkin cool science experiment for the boys.

The package said "Guaranteed to grow" Let's do it! The boys check it every day to see if there are any strawberries yet.
The boys loved having Adelynn there to spend time with. Snacking on animal crackers was a favorite event!
Check out this girl...chipmunk mouth full of crackers and caught with her hand in the jar.
With the weather as hot as it was we spent most of the weekend outdoors splashing around in water. On pinterest I found this idea of freezing water balloons with colored water and then using them as bowling balls for outdoor bowling. Sounds like fun to me...and it was.
They quickly decided to float them into the pool. Adelynn joined in on the fun too! She loved biting the ice balls.
It was a great opportunity to talk about melting. All the colors were fun to watch bobbing in the water and the kids were trying to catch them.
Adelynn chomps down on the ice
Thanks again pinterest for a fun idea!
