My new yoga adventure
So as you know I earned my certification for teaching kids yoga for children ages 2-12 in 2018, and I have been using that tool to bring mindfulness and yoga to my own students in my class each and everyday. I have created a free after school yoga club for students in grades 2 and 3 to practice twice a week. Also at our local library, I have been teaching a free community children's yoga class once a month. I have been loving it and watching how much these children enjoy it and use it to help them through their day. I have always wanted to teach kids in a yoga studio and have begged Bob to help me open my own studio but he helps me to understand that isn't the best choice for us right now. Over Co-vid quarentine I saw on FaceBook a new studio open up in Vermilion in January of 2021. It looked like just the place for me so in April I gathered up my courage, resume, references, and certificate and stopped by to introduce myself to the owner Megan Smith. She took my information I brought and asked me to come back the next week for an interview. I stopped by and after talking for just a few minutes she offered me the spot of children's yoga teacher at her facility. It's so amazing when you see something you have hoped for come to life...this took patience for me but it has been worth the wait. I am currently teaching every Friday evening and one Saturday a month. I have a steady group of kids and love having them.
I am so honored to have this opportunity to reach children in the town of Vermilion.
