Week Six: Corona Quarentine April 20-26

Yep we are deep in puppy love!  Landon caught be caught cuddling with Leo a lot!

On Leo's daily walks he often finds sticks to bite and carry with him.  It cracks us up because the sticks are usually so much larger than him!

Homeschooling is not nearly as much fun as it was at the beginning of this quarantine.  Nolan has great moments but more often not so great. He is often not interested in any tasks given.  The struggle is really trying to get him to complete much.  We talk frequent breaks of silliness to get through!

The boys hair is getting so long and out of control so we decided to embrace it and have fun!

This photo is a perfect depiction of the homeschool hot mess that is happening on the daily!  I am trying hard to teach my kindergarten students digitally while guiding Landon on his writing assignments, Carter is creating his science project, Nolan randomly clicking on answers he knows may or may not be right but if he keeps clicking the chances are he will get to the end quick, and Leo is in the middle of the madness usually nipping us with his razor-sharp puppy teeth...this is reality!

We do have many moments of together time where we can enjoy each other. We are reading our "blog books" to remind ourselves of the fun memories we have as a family.

Our favorite local park: Beaver Creek.  We either walk, run, or bike there and back at least once a day and the boys love to head down to the moving water.

On our walk a hawk devoured a woodpecker right above the walking trail.  As we passed by there was a scattering of feathers and right along the path was the head of the woodpecker.  The boys tried so hard to convince me to bring the head home with us so they could look at it with a magnifying glass.  Turns out I was able to agree that a picture was just the best choice for our family.

This family is full of pranks on each other.  Nolan used shaving cream to make a "sweet treat" for Bob.  He took it upstairs and they laughed the whole way up!

Landon taped the fridge door closed...this was a good prank because it kept me from eating all day long!

Each night we have been watching a movie together as a family.  The other evening the boys chose the 1990 version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  The next day there were costumes and a whole bunch of yelling "Cowabunga!"

Nolan turned 7 years old on Friday and it was our mission to make his day great even in the midst of this quarantine. We hung balloons in the trees, hung posters, and friends stopped by to put signs in our yard!

Birthday breakfast of Dunkin' Doughnuts...glazed with white frosting and sprinkles

Nolan wanted a kayak for his birthday!  He was so happy to see the FedEx man carrying it to our house!

Aunt Katie came through with dinner from his favorite restaurant...Panera Bread.

Friends and family organized a birthday parade by our house.  He absolutely loved this!  It was so great to see the love and happiness from everyone! It was food for the soul!

After the parade we made our way to the backyard to beat open a pinata!

His favorite...ice cream cake from Dairy Queen.

Another gift request was a diary with a lock and key for boys.  The first sentence he wrote was "I love dogs"

The weekend weather was sunny and warm.  The boys had a blast having a picnic lunch in the backyard.

We gave Nolan's kayak it's first chance on the water at Mill Hollow.  He even let the other brothers to have a turn to paddle down the Vermilion River too!

I have a feeling there might be more requests for a kayak with the other boys for their birthday.

I love watching the boys enjoying their time outdoors working hard right alongside Bob!  They love spending time with him!
