The Lokers Come to Visit

A few weeks back the Loker's came to visit us here at our new house in Ohio.  Laura drove down with her kids on Thursday and since Bob was working in Mi he picked up Bill on the way home on Friday.
Friday morning we took everyone to The Little Gym.  This is a place where the boys are having classes ...sports, gymnastics, and anything else to wear them out.  Abby jumped right in with the boys and enjoyed hanging from the parallel bars and balancing on the beam.  Afterwards we went to the park for a picnic.  After that they were exhausted so we went back for the kids to nap.  Jackson was giving Laura such a hard time going down.  I went in and covered him up and said, "Good Night, Jackson," and he was out.  Don't you love how easy it is for someone else to do it!   Carter and Abby decided not to nap and Landon quickly woke so I took them outside to play while Laura and Jackson rested.  Abby insisted on playing house where she was the mom, Carter was the dad, and Landon was the baby.  During this time Abby brought out the toy lawnmower and told Carter he needed to mow the grass.  He politely ignored her and grabbed his plastic golf club and ball.  Abby took off with the lawn mower and started to mow the grass.  After about 2 minutes she walked over to Carter and Landon who were playing golf and she said, "Carter, I need you to mow the grass so I can go to the grocery store."  Carter  and Landon acted as if she didn't even exist.  I sat watching this whole thing play out only to realize how young the reality of life starts...
The evening ended with a dinner trip to Chick-Fil-A.  Laura is a southern girl so the chicken sandwiches on biscuits are something that girl might kill for. I do agree the waffle fries and chicken nuggets really do hit the spot.
The next day we took at nature hike at the park across the street.  The boys love to explore and they really liked showing Abby and Jackson the best place to throw rocks in the water.  It amazes me how long they can throw rocks into water without getting bored...next time I am gonna bring my chair and a book while they throw until their hearts content. On our way back to the path, this klutz slipped and fell on the muddy rocks holding Nolan.  Thank goodness neither one of us was hurt just a little shook up.

Abby loves to hold Nolan.  She even sang "Twinkle, twinkle little star" to him. I am always hoping that the boys will see how gentle she is with him and maybe it will rub off on them.  As of right now...that hasn't happened.

Jackson loves being with the "big" boys.  He is always running on the shirt tales of Carter and Landon.  He is watching Landon work on some learning activity sheets.

Our last stop was the beach.  Believe it or not in our new house we are about 4 miles from the beach we would walk to at our first house in Lorain.  Lakeview Beach is a great beach to take kids because it isn't crowded, it's clean, and there is a play structure in the middle of the sand.  The water was a little chilly but the kids worked hard in the sand.

We love having visitors come to stay.  Can't wait to have the Loker's visit again!
