Our Trip to PA!

This weekend we drove to visit my cousin and her family who live in PA. We left on Friday and drove to almost the border of Ohio.  Our friends, The Goffs, who live in Kent came to visit us at the hotel.  Christine is 6 days away from delivering their first baby girl!  It was so great to see them with their utter excitement for what changes life awaits for them.  We got up on Saturday morning and drove into Pittsburgh to the Children's Museum.  If you are ever in that area and have kids...this is a must place to visit.  They have so much to offer children of all ages.  We began in the art studio where the boys painted, molded clay, explored plaster, and created paper.  Carter was very much into the painting while Landon loved playing in the plaster.  There are four floors in this place.  We loved it.  They have a water exploration floor with water sprayers, water tables, and boat creating.  Then they had a floor geared specifically for the boys age.  They had a bird seed filled table which the boys loved shoveling into cups.  A wall was a large lite brite...so stinkin cool!  There was a room that had a zero gravity slant.  I didn't tell Bob about this because I knew he would not go in.  You should have seen the look on his face as he came out...I thought he was going to puke! Carter spent quite a bit of time at this virtual station where he could use blocks to create animals to change color, move, and choose a background location.  Their favorite was a room called the garage.  It was full of cars, truck tires, wheels, trollies.  You name it if it had wheels it was in this room for the kids to either climb on or drive.  After we left the museum we went to my cousins house to see them.  The boys loved playing with Micah and all of his big boy toys.  We walked to the park where Micah and Carter climbed all over everything!  That evening we spent the night in Holiday Inn Express just down the road from my cousin and I have to tell you it was AMAZING!  There was a putt putt course, a waterfall, a fish pond, a sandbox, indoor pool and spa.  They had complimentary popcorn, pretzels, chips, chocolate chip cookies, iced tea, coffee, popsicles, hot pockets, corn dogs, and breakfast.  I know that this is just blowing your mind because it did ours too!  Sunday, June 10th, was Carter's 3rd birthday!  We blew up balloons and put them on his bed.  When he woke up he said, "There are balloons on my bed daddy. It's my birthday. I'm free (this is how he says three)"  He wore his birthday hat to the breakfast at the hotel.  We drove home and stopped at Grandma Angie's house.  She had made a birthday cake for Carter.  We say "Happy Birthday" and he blew out candles.  When we asked him what he wished for he said, "I wished for a really big thing."  It is so hard for Bob and I to believe that just three short years ago we were in the hospital with a baby boy in our arms.  We are so happy to have such a happy, active, and smart little boy!
Carter loves to paint!
