Christmas finale!

Image
Finally our Christmas celebrations are coming to an end.  It is going to be very confusing for the boys because right now they think that get to open presents everyday.  Bob's mom and sister came over last night to open presents and hang out.  It began to snow in the afternoon.  The snowflakes were huge and fluffy.  Bob enjoyed taking the boys out to catch snowflakes on their tongues. This picture is great because the boys think Bob and his mom are crazy!  You can only imagine what our neighbors thought as they drove past and saw this sight! Bob's mom brought over a wooden race track that she had built for Bob as a kid.  The boys love this ramp because they race their new matchbox cars.  Carter loves trying his Cars 2 cars and trains on the track too! Bob's sister, Katie got the boys Mr. Potato Heads that are all the characters of Toy Story.  This is such a cool gift.  They love to change out the accessories and sometimes I catch them with the mouth pieces i

Warm days in December

Image
Well we didn't have a white Christmas but I was okay with that.  Snow is not one of my favorite things especially when we are doing some serious traveling.  On Monday the temperature was in the mid 40's so we bundled up the boys and walked to the park.  The boys started out with their hats on but quickly ripped them off.   So happy that we can be outside having fun in December.

Christmas in Bucyrus!

Image
We traveled down to my hometown of Bucyrus, Ohio.  On Christmas Eve we head over to my grandparents to eat, laugh, and exchange gifts. My grandparents are in their mid-80's but are as quick as a whip.  So loving and caring for all of us that it just warms my heart.  My grandma just shines when she has one of her seven great grandchildren in her lap.  She called me earlier that week to see what she could get for the boys.  I said snow boots and they love Cars the movie.  So she got them the best of both worlds...Cars2 light up snow boots.  When Carter unwrapped his he instantly wanted to wear them and jump up and down to get them to flash.  Landon always follows Carter's lead and was wearing them quickly after him. We left their house at 9:45pm and went down the street to my parent's house for the night.  When we got there Landon got sick all over Bob.  It was nuts.  He whined a little and then just threw up like a hose all over Bob's new shirt.  My favorite was the look

Let all the Christmas begin!

This weekend we celebrated the "Boone" family Christmas.  We headed to the bowling alley first which was great because it was the first time the boys have ever been bowling.  They loved it.  They had bumpers in the lanes and also a roller ramp to push the balls down.  After bowling we went back to our house for a taco bar and presents.  The boys were so excited to open presents.  Carter was giddy with excitement. They got so many toys there were having a hard time deciding which one to play with first.    Bowling with Grandma Boone  Landon wanted this toy opened immediately. Just what Carter needs...a remote control car! Today we had the Christmas party at the playgroup.  The kids got to decorate sugar cookies with frosting and sprinkles.  My boys ate all the frosting and used only a small speck to frost the cookie. Landon dipped everything in the frosting...grapes, cheese, triscits. Grandma Boone is in town for the holidays and she went with us to

The Santa was so good! Carter loved to tell Santa he wanted "presents". Landon was scared of Santa. Here are a few of my favorites from the visit with Santa at Rainbow Childcare.

A Jam Packed Weekend

I have to tell you that there are so many things to do up here in this area.  They print this newspaper/flyer each month that lists all the upcoming events to attend.  Well you know me, we have to do them all! On Friday night my parents drove up from Ohio and we jumped in the car and headed into Ann Arbor.  Festive Fridays offer free horse and carriage rides from 7-9pm.  We bundled up the kids and headed out.  The line was already lengthy at 7:06pm so I waited in line for a while and Bob took my parents and the boys into the stores to stay warm and then we switched.  We jumped on the carriage and rode around the block.  It was great fun.  The boys loved it and were ohh and ahh at the Christmas lights. A friend that I met up here in Chelsea told me about an opportunity for the kids to have their pictures taken with Santa.  We headed out to the car and went to the local day care.  The Santa was very authentic looking.  Carter jumped up on his lap with no hesitation to tell him that he w

My Pintrest Obsession

Image
Isn't this just priceless! Here are the footprint Rudolph's...a little abstract but cute! They loved putting the googly eyes on Santa! My little painters! So if you haven't already heard of this great site called "Pintrest" you are missing out!  I have become obsessed.  It is a way to create virtual pin boards of pretty much anything you can think of.  Since being a play at home mom this year I am always looking for new things to do with the boys.  I found some cute Christmas projects.  I decided that we were going to paint...all by myself...I know I probably should have thought this through a little more but oh well.  The boys had a blast.  I started out by painting hands and then went to their feet.  Carter begged to paint Landon's feet and I let him because it was so stinkin cute.  They are two peas in a pod.  I love getting to watch them explore new things! My latest "must haves" for the boys.  So I saw these "Santa d
