Quite A Scare!
Thursday night Bob and I went to have the last date night we will have in the next 12 years together. We went for dinner at Blake's seafood and saw the movie Inception. I am not to eat or drink anything after midnight so I was eating like a bear storing up for winter hibernation. I had calamari, a loaf of bread, salad, steak, shrimp, and garlic mashed potatoes. Then at the movie we of course had to get the largest popcorn and lemonade. I was so full when I got home but managed to squeeze in an Oreo Klondike. Carter was just asleep when we got home. However when he heard us he was wide awake and ready to rock. So Bob and I stayed up until about midnight playing and hanging out with him. Finally, we thought if we just took him up to our bed and laid down that he might fall asleep and we would transfer him into his bed. Bob made him a little bottle to set him to just relax and fall asleep. In bed he wanted to read a book and talk so we had to shut off all the lights and pretend to be sleeping. We gave him the bottle which he only drank a little of. Around 5:30am I rolled over and my hand landed in a puddle of wetness. I was so confused because I wasn't feeling any contractions but I was for sure that my water broke because this wet spot was on the sheets. I woke up Bob and said that my water broke. He immediately jumped out of bed and ran to my side of the bed. With his phone as a flashlight he looked at the wet spot and said oh yeah your water broke. I went to the bathroom because I had to pee and realized that my underwear was dry as a bone so how could of my water break. I thought I had slept through it and my underwear had dried but the bed hadn't. I told Bob that I was going to carry Carter to his bed and then strip the sheets and we should call the doctor. He told me that he was going to be sick and he needed to hover over the toilet for a quick second. So I take Carter to his crib and on my way back to the bedroom I wake my mom up and tell her that I think my water broke. She jumps up and comes to the bedroom and she sees the wet spot and is convinced that it's definitely happened. I start to strip the sheets and when I get to the comforter Carter's bottle comes flying out of the sheets. Then all the puzzle pieces fall into place. The reason my underwear isn't wet is because my water didn't break it was just Carter's bottle of milk that had spilled onto the sheets and soaked all the way through. Once this was realized there was uncontrollable laughter that was coming from the bedroom. Bob was feeling better and I was feeling relieved. Well, we are headed back to bed for a few hours before we need to get up for the real deal! Hope you laughed out loud as much as we did!
