Christmas traditions

The holidays bring some much fun and hustle but we always try and find a way to sneak in all the holiday traditions we can.
Aunt Katie grabbed us holiday canvases to paint this year to add to our wall.  We love choosing to paint them together.

We grabbed all the ingredients we needed to make Grandma Grocho's famous sugar cookie recipe.

And just like that we tried but they didn't turn out as good as she makes them.  The moment I tasted ours it did trigger some great memories of Christmas Eve's at her house though.

It was Grinch Day in my classroom (virtually of course) Carter helped me make Grinch cookies.  They were delicious! I love these moments when he still thinks doing fun things with Mom are cool!

Gingerbread house construction can be very tricky and also frustrating at times so we have learned to purchase the pre-made houses.  Carter, however, insisted that he wanted to try constructing again. I think he finally has the hang of it!

There was quite a bit of frosting and candy eating along the way.

A new tradition the boys wanted to start was The Boone Brother Gift Exchange.  Each one of the boys used their own money to purchase gifts for each other.  Bob and I took the boys to shop and they picked out items they thought their brothers would like.  They all agreed that from now on this tradition will continue and that they will open their gifts on Christmas Eve morning so they have all day to play with brother gifts.

Funny enough each one of them bought the same thing for each other without knowing it.  Landon ended up buying an additional gift for Carter.  His favorite candy bar is Twix so he got him a yard of Twix.
We are so happy to enjoy these holiday traditions together each year and add new ones too!
