Wedding in Minnesota turns into a summer vacation

Our cousin Christin was getting married on June 17th in Minnesota so we decided to go and make the trip a little mini vacation.  We jumped on a plane with Maw Maw on June 15th and headed to Minneapolis.  Once we landed we drove to St. Cloud which is about an hour outside the city.  We rented a lake house with Aunt D and Uncle Ed.  The house was a cute little house that had a beach with a dock in the backyard.  The house was fun of fun things for the kids to do (a dollhouse for Addie, train table for the boys, bikes, a keyboard, dress up clothes, carpet ball, archery, canoes, and fishing poles).  From the moment we arrived the fun never stopped... Bob and Nolan posing by the water Just down the road from our house was a strawberry farm.  It opened the day we arrived so we drove over and picked strawberries. They were delicious.  In my mind I thought this activity would last about an hour...turns out we can pick strawberries quickly...15 minute...

First week of summer!!!

As soon as the last box was packed in my classroom, I jumped in the car to grab the boys from Becky to get summer started. Grabbing some shades for the sun! I had a few errands I needed to run at the Sandusky Mall.  We walked in through Books A Million (BAM!)...we spent over 90 minutes in the children's books area just reading books and playing with puppets.  I love not having to rush.  That feeling of being able to stop and enjoy the moments.  Our favorite summer tradition is to create our "summer bucket list." We use large chart paper Post-it's that we can hang on the wall and check off the activities as we complete them.  It is so fun to listen to them decide what event they want to write on the list. Thursday morning we jumped in the car and met Matt, Lilly, and Ben at Bacon Woods for a nature hike, picnic lunch, and a splash at Mill Hollow.  On our nature hike we saw a snake hiding in a tree, a frog, and lots of snails.  It was the perf...
