Summer Week Two-Camp Invention, Aunt Sharon and Larry Come to Town
This week Carter and Landon participated in a day camp called Camp Invention. The purpose of this camp was to enrich innovative thinking and creativity. We had to bring materials that they could take apart and figure out how they were made. We grabbed several old broken remote control cars that they used screwdrivers and other tools to take apart. They were there from 9am-3:30pm. The first day we showed up we found out that Landon and Carter were in separate groups. Carter was not set back by this at all but Landon was bummed. He didn't shed any tears but was very nervous and shy. He stood off to the side until I coaxed him to the table to sit by another boy who had the same scared look on his face. At the end of the first day, both Carter and Landon seemed to get over any worry they had at the start. From the moment I picked them up until we pulled into our driveway, they were chatting about all the fun they had. Throughout the week, they created a "crick-o-bot". This was a cricket that vibrated using a solar panel. They had to build the creature, create a house for it, and also decorate it. Carter named his "Crick Hopper" and even gave it a birthday which in turn means we had to celebrate it…with ice cream of course. I was impressed with all the boys experienced this week and they are already looking forward to the chance to go back next summer.

While the big boys were at Camp Invention, my Aunt Sharon and Uncle Larry came up to visit from Zanesville. They drove up in their motorhome and parked in the driveway for two nights. It was so much fun having them here. One day we jumped in the car and drove over to East Harbor beach, then to Marblehead Lighthouse. Nolan was enjoying so much having all the attention since he was the only one there during the day.
Such a lake boy!
Sharon celebrated her birthday here with us. Since we are all aging, my mom willing let her try out her Rodan+Fields amp roller. This is a rolling pin with mini sharp needles that you roll up and down your face to make yourself look younger. As you can see from her reaction, it hurts like a maniac. This makes the statement "Beauty is Pain!" so truthful.
If that wasn't enough we also gave her a mask, can't you see the wrinkles just disappearing??
We had such a great time with our visitors and we will be heading down to see them in July!
