Easter
Here in Vermilion there are lots of things going on in preparation for the Easter holiday. On Saturday there were easter egg hunts and Easter Bunny photo ops. Of course we tried to make it to all of them! At Brummer's the local chocolate and candy store, they were giving away free chocolate and a chance to meet the Easter Bunny. The boys were very willing and excited to get their photo taken with him.
Hugs for the bunny!
Next we walked to the park downtown for the annual Easter egg hunt. The boys were anxiously awaiting the release of the kids while the head honcho read three pages of rules and thank yous! (ha)
Maw Maw and Paw Paw made the trip up to watch the boys too.
Ready, Set, Go!
Luckily, Nolan was in a different location because he would have been run over by those big kids. He found the winning egg that contained a ticket for a free bunny cake!! Lucky Duck!
He had quite a full basket.
One of my favorite things to do at Easter is to dye eggs using the "erupting" method. It's about as close to blowing things up in my eyes as you can get. We have done this years ago when we were at Lokers house in Michigan. You hard boil the eggs, mix food coloring with baking soda, roll the eggs in baking soda, then drop them into a cup of vinegar and watch the eruptions.
Nolan thought it was the coolest thing ever.
Landon kept saying in the highest pitch voice, "it's erupting, it's erupting, its erupting."
They turn out pretty cool. We colored them over and over and over again until we ran out of baking soda and a gallon of vinegar.
The only side effect is dyed fingers for a few days but in my eyes…totally worth it!
