Spontaneous Cedar Point Event

Image
About a week ago Bob had to travel up to Michigan for work, so I am always looking for something to do to keep the boys busy. At the end of the school day on Tuesday, Matt came to my room and told us all about the FREE trick or treat event at Cedar Point.  Count us in!!  We ran home, ate dinner, grabbed costumes and headed out.  To our surprise Maw Maw was waiting to see us at the house.  She got to come with us and this was so helpful for me with the boys by myself.  Carter is a lion, Landon a hotdog, and that night Nolan wanted to be a shark.  When we arrived the parking lot was quickly filling up.  We ended up waiting in line for over an hour but the kids were very well behaved.   All the kids dressed up: Landon(hotdog), Ben (superman), Carter (lion), Lilly (super girl), and Nolan While waiting in this long line in the middle of the parking lot, Nolan had to pee.  What's a mom to do???? So I tried to make it as discreet as possibl...

Color run 2015

It's that time again…The Color Run.  I can't tell you how many times throughout the year the boys talk about doing this and counting down the days until the next one.  This year the Lokers decided to drive down from Michigan and share in the experience with us.  As we woke up the sky was full of clouds and a chilly breeze was blowing through but at the start of the race the sun broke through the clouds and the temperature began to rise.  It was a beautiful day to get splashed with color!!! Before the race photo! Look at the smiles on Nolan and Abby's face!   As we walked through downtown Sandusky we stumbled upon Jackson street pier.  Jackson was claiming the lake as "Jackson water".  It was so cute!! The little guy got covered with color.  He walked quite a bit of the 5K. Jackson and Bill All of us together Our favorite part is the ending of the race when you get your own packe...

A Family Weekend in the Wilderness

Image
Friday evening we jumped in the van after school and traveled down to Columbus to see Lincoln, Addie, Maw Maw, and Paw Paw because Aunt D and Uncle Edd were gone at a wedding.  The kids were so excited to see each other.  On Saturday we went to Dill's Greenhouse which was hosting a fall festival. A straw maze A sandbox full of corn A barrel ride There were animals to see and pet Even a tall tower of straw bales This was so cool.  They had random metal bowls, spoons, pots, and pans hanging to make music with. Who doesn't have fun in a corn maze…Lincoln and I got lost and struggled to find the way out for awhile.  This tube was at the top of a hill and we took turns pushing it down and riding in it too. Note to self: this is not intended for adults Immediately following the fun at the fall festival we drove to this event called :Operator for a day!  Kelli and James sugges...
