Whirlwind weekend: Trout Release, 10 miler, and Nolan turns 2!

Each year, Vermilion hosts a trout release. This is where the local fish hatchery brings 26, 000 baby rainbow trout to be shot out of a tube into the Vermilion River.  It is a very cool event that I look forward to each year.  During Art class, all students create a poster that tells the story of the journey of the trout from the river to Lake Erie.  It is judged by local employees of City Hall.  We found out on Wednesday that Carter had won first prize for Kindergarten!  We kept it a secret until Friday morning when they announced that he had won he was in shock.  This meant that not only would he get a fishing pole but he got the chance to place some fish into the river too!   The winner with his fishing pole prize. The docks with all the students and parents watching! On Saturday, Bob and I had signed up to run in the Cleveland 10 miler.  Our new year's resolution was to run a race together! Star of the Show!

It is finally time for Landon's preschool program.  This year the theme was The Nursery Rhymes.  Landon was going to be Jack and his best friend Morgan, was Jill.  He was very excited to perform but so hesitant to put on a pair of jeans.  You would think that the world was going to end when we asked him to put on jeans. Finally, with some bribing of Wii minutes he put on the jeans and we were on our way. When he came walking down wearing his golden crown, my heart melted! My king of hearts! Landon and Morgan his partner in crime! Oh, his eyes how they twinkle They performed in front of everyone as Jack and Jill!  They did so well! Check out his smile of success! Maw Maw was helpful because Nolan was restless and wanted to get to Landon on the stage. So proud of Landon!

Weekend with the cousins

A weekend with the cousins is just what the doctor ordered. Danielle picked up my mom and came up for the weekend! When they arrived our backyard was full of water and the boys were having a blast splashing in it. The boys eating their nutella snacks!! On Saturday morning, the sun was shining so we jumped in the cars and drove to the Cleveland Zoo.   The animals were out and about enjoying the sun. We walked into the zoo hospital and got to see a lion in the midst of an ultrasound.  It was crazy!  That is a real lion! It blew my mind! Cuddles! The penguins were on display at the zoo and Landon was more than excited to see them!  He has quite the penguin obsession. The sit and stand stroller caused some drama because everyone wanted to sit on it at the same time! Trying to get all five kids to smile and look at the camera was impossible.  The kids favorite part was the petting zoo! ...
