A tooth, saying mama, and standing up!
I apologize for the amount of time that has lapsed since my last post. Since then we have been working on getting teeth to break on through. Carter has been chewing, sucking, and slobbering all over everything trying to get a tooth in. He has started to be a little fussy. He is not crying in pain just kinda whining. The tooth has popped through the gums on the bottom but we can feel it but not see it yet. It's so exciting but he is not a fan of letting us look in his mouth. Just recently we started to give him bitter biscuits. These are little cookie like sticks that are very hard. Carter loves them. He will suck on it and rub it on his gums. The downside however is that they make a huge mess. He is covered in cookie mess when he is finished. He will stick it in his hair and around his eyes so we usually have one right before bathtime. Then we just take him in and hose him off. About 2 weeks ago he started babbling "mama". I am not sure if it was for real but I will take it! I love hearing him babble. He is talking more while I am driving him to and from the sitters and it cracks me up. He has really started to use his eyebrows when he is talking and he gets so serious. Last night I was loading the dishwasher, Bob was putting dinner away, and Carter was crawling on the kitchen floor. We looked over and Carter had climbed over to the dishwasher and pulled himself up. He went from being on his belly, to his knees, and then to standing up. Bob and I were speechless in amazement. As he was standing holding onto the bottom drawer of the dishwasher he leaned forward and landed right onto the dishwasher drawer. It was just too funny! He is pulling himself up on everything now. It is so fun to watch him do so many new things. Last weekend we went to visit the Raders and their new arrival. Mason Daniel Rader was born February 18th. He is a tiny little man. We stopped by and hung out with them. He was about 6 pounds. I could not believe how tiny he was. MJ and Derek are loving every moment of being parents! Congrats to the Raders!
