The Boone Boys!
On Wednesday, St. Patty's Day, we had 3 doctor appointments. The first one was Carter's 9 month check up. He know weighs 18 lbs 15 oz and is 27 inches long. He is very healthy but she did refer us to an ear, nose, and throat specialist due to the fact that he has had 5 ear infections in 3 months. She thinks that he is a prime candidate for tubes in his ears. We have mixed feelings on this surgery but have only heard positive things from others parents whose children have gone through the same thing. We will see that the specialist has to say! Then was the ultrasound at 2:30pm. Our technician was amazing. She was our age with 2 boys and we got caught up talking about our boys while we were doing the ultrasound. Everything was great and the baby is healthy. We counted fingers and toes. We had her find out the sex of the baby and print it out and put it in a card for us. We then went to my monthly pregnancy checkup with Dr. Starck. She found the heart beat very quickly and said the results from the ultrasound were fantastic. After all the appointments we decided to head home and feed Carter and then go back out for dinner to open the card. However after feeding Carter we decided to put him in the stroller and walk down to the local Mexican restaurant on the lake. The mariachi band was playing loud and entertaining Carter. While eating I told Bob that my stomach was feeling funny but I thought that I had just eaten too much too fast. Later that night Bob said his stomach was tore up. Right around 11:30pm we both woke up from sleeping and starting getting sick. We continued this all through the night until the early hours. I called my mom around 5:30am to have her come up to help take care of Carter because I knew that neither one of us could even make it long enough to drive him to the sitters. My mom and dad both came up. My dad drove Bob and I to the emergency room. They diagnosed us with food poisoning and hooked us up to IV's of fluid and medication to stop us from throwing up. After 4 hours at the er we were sent home. Not long after that we both got fevers over 100 degrees. The next day we both went to work and my mom stayed home with Carter because all the kids at the sitter were sick with the flu. At lunch my mom text to tell me that she was throwing up and my dad was on his way up to take care of Carter. Bob came home early from work because he was still not feeling well at all. My mom was so sick and could barely make it back to Bucyrus. That evening my dad started getting sick too! So...I am not sure whether we just had food poisoning and a touch of the flu along with it. We are now back to our normal selves today! While at the Mexican restaurant we opened up the card and it is another little boy. I can't tell you how much we are so excited for Carter to have a little brother! Not to mention how all the clothes and accessories will work out so well!
