Baby Bump's First Snow Day!

Image
Today is our first snow day of the year! I was hoping for a snow day today and was so afraid it wouldn't happen. Every school around us cancelled before six however we were still on. Of course the second I jump in the shower and get my hair wet, I got the call. I didn't care though a snow day is still great with wet hair! I have been waking up and my stomach has been sore. I am not sure why either. Some suggest that I should start sleeping with a pillow between my legs to take away some pressure. Others say it's sore because my skin is stretching or that I am sleeping on my back at times during the night and not knowing it. It feels like I have done 800 situps --that kind of sore.

Sweet Sixteen Weeks!

Oh yeah! 16 weeks=4 months! Knock on anything that is wooden. I have had 3 good days! No nausea , no headaches, and no puking! If this keeps up I think I can handle this thing! I am still wearing my clothes! I bought these new things called bella bands--of course I got the generic brand from ebay. They are like a cloth headband for your belly. I can keep my pants unbuttoned and keep my buttcrack from showing at the same time. They are great! I got one in black, white, and brown--to go with any outfit! :) Last weekend we were traveling maniacs and it really took a toll on my body. I was stinkin exhausted and realized that I might have to slow down or just learn how to sleep in the car. My last teaching day is Friday and I am so excited. I finally told my students today that I was going to have a baby. (remember they are in first grade 6-7 yrs old) They wanted to know if I could make the baby come early so they could hold the baby soon. One student said that I should name the baby either...

Find Out or Not?

The most frequently asked question by friends, family, and strangers is...Are you going to find out the sex of the baby? From the beginning I have said that I wanted it to be a surprise. You don't get many surprises in your lifetime so this would be incredible. I wanted to choose a name for each sex and then when the baby arrived we would then know who our baby would be. Bob has wanted to know since the day we found out we were pregnant. He says that he wants to prepare for who the baby would be so he could call the bump a he or a she instead of it. Many people have told me pros and cons to either way. I don't care about making it easier for people to purchase gifts. I care about the "moment"! My life is all about the "moments". This past weekend while with people from Bob's work a woman said her and her husband had the doctor write the sex of the baby on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope. Then when they went out to dinner just the two of them ...

The First Sounds of the Heartbeat!

Monday December 1st was our second doctor's appointment. It was scheduled for 9:50am. The nurse took us back at 9:55 and the doctor did not come into 10:40am. My patience was treading very thin. Come on, that is crazy! Anyways when she did arrive it was a very quick appointment. I had a list of questions to ask her. One was, I thought on Saturday that I had felt the baby move. It was a flutter right under rib cage. It was a feeling that I had never felt before. So I asked the doctor if I could be feeling the baby and she said that it was too early. She said what i felt was gas--how embarrassing! Well, I am really looking forward to actually feeling the baby move. Before the doctor left she used the ultrasound machine to let us hear the heartbeat. At first she warned don't worry if you can't hear a heart beat we will get the visual ultrasound if we need to. However, she found it very quickly! It was beating very quickly. It sounded like someone swishing aroun...

Thanksgiving Recap!

I hope that you all enjoyed the holiday! We left Wednesday after Bob got off work and headed down to Bucyrus. Thursday was the Hornk Thanksgiving at my mom's. Friday we went shopping at Toys R Us to buy some baby stuff. When we walked in the checkout line started at the entrance and wrapped clear around the store. We left without a purchase. We then went to Old Navy and I got my first maternity pants. Those things are an interesting piece of clothing. After shopping until I dropped(needed a nap) we drove up north to Michigan. We spent the evening with Bob's sisters and their family. On Saturday morning we traveled up north to Bob's Dad's for Thanksgiving. Then that evening drove back to Milan to spend time with his mom. Today we got home around 2pm. We have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning! Check back to see what is new with the bump!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We just got back from Thanksgiving weekend! We traveled down to Bucyrus on Wednesday night and met up with from high school. Then had Hornak Thanksgiving on Thursday. Friday we went shopping around 9am. We decided to head to Toys R Us to try and pick up some baby things. However, the checkout line was wrapped from the front door all around the store to the check out. Bob was not in for waiting in that line-he said time is money! :) Next, we ventured to Old Navy where I got my first pair of maternity pants. What an interesting concept those things are. I got a pair of jeans with the fabric at the top that comes over the belly and a pair of khaki pants for school with the adjustable waistband. Bring on the belly! After we shopped til I dropped-i needed a nap on the way up to Michigan. We spent the evening with Bob's mom, sisters, and their family. We played Wii! Saturday morning we drove up to his Dad's for Thanksgiving dinner. We came back that evening to Bob's mom's hou...

Yeah! 12 Weeks!

Image
We are officially 12 weeks into our pregnancy! Since my last posting we have shared the news with many other people. That has been the most fun! Also, we have had our first doctor's appointment. It was October 27 th . At the doctor's we had our first ultrasound to make sure there was something in there. It was just the size of a kidney bean--Bob could see the heartbeat but I could not see it. The due date is June 2 nd ! I have not puked at all since my last posting but believe me I have been nauseous everyday-mostly all day. I am very tired and tend to fall asleep on the couch each night after dinner. Thank goodness for DVR . We bought our first diapers--too fun! About 2 weeks ago, Bob took our first belly picture. I feel like it is getting bigger and bigger each day. I can't wait for it to get bigger and bigger.

Puking Rally

So I thought that I was not going to be getting morning sickness but unfortunately I was wrong. On Friday morning around 2am, I woke up in pain because my stomach was upset. I knew I was going to get sick. I headed to the bathroom but it was just not ready. Bob came to the bathroom and sat on the edge of the shower and rubbed my back while I hugged the toilet. However, when I go back in bed 10 minutes later I puked. Then Saturday morning, I got up early and made myself a cup of tea and started reading in bed. After I finished my cup of tea I got sick. Thank goodness for the trashcan by the bed-a necessity! Today I slept in with hopes of sleepy away my morning ritual. It worked--no puking today!

We are pregnant!!

On Monday, September 22, 2008 I was not feeling well. So I decided to take a pregnancy test just to be sure. I left the test in the bathroom for the results. I continued making dinner and then Bob came home from work. I had forgotten about the test and when I went to the restroom I noticed the "plus" sign. I ran to Bob and said "I think this is a plus sign" like 3-4 times. We busted out the preg. test instructions and sure enough--it was a plus sign. I whipped out another test this time a digital one. It was also postive. I called my doctor on Tuesday and the appointment is scheduled for Monday October 27th at 10:30am. We are so excited! This weekend Bob went to the OSU game with Kasey Studer and I went home to visit my parents. I made a dessert to use as Bob's bday cake and we were going to sing Happy Birthday to him. After we sang and he blew out the candle, I asked him what his wish was. He said "My wish was that everyone knew that we were pregnant!...
