Everyday moments

Image
This post is very random but full of photos of great memories... One spring day, Nolan and Landon working hard in the garden. It was great teamwork. A lucky day at East Harbor State Park Beach playing with garbage trucks. We always have an extra set of clothes in the car for each boy because you never know when you get the chance to get dirty! While I was folding laundry, I walked into the kitchen to see all 3 boys together finding Waldo on my old "Where's Waldo" books. Basketball silly faces  Random costumes…Heatwave from the Rescue Bots. At the Lokers, while the others were upstairs playing they were having a jam session together. Landon loves to wear boxer briefs.  He changes into them each day after school.  I don't condone the fact that he is sitting on the table eating dinner but it sure makes it easier to see his briefs.  Don't you all eat dinner like that?? This little guy is always...

Easter

Image
Here in Vermilion there are lots of things going on in preparation for the Easter holiday.  On Saturday there were easter egg hunts and Easter Bunny photo ops.  Of course we tried to make it to all of them!  At Brummer's the local chocolate and candy store, they were giving away free chocolate and a chance to meet the Easter Bunny.  The boys were very willing and excited to get their photo taken with him.   Hugs for the bunny! Next we walked to the park downtown for the annual Easter egg hunt.  The boys were anxiously awaiting the release of the kids while the head honcho read three pages of rules and thank yous! (ha) Maw Maw and Paw Paw made the trip up to watch the boys too. Ready, Set, Go! Luckily, Nolan was in a different location because he would have been run over by those big kids.  He found the winning egg that contained a ticket for a free bunny cake!! Lucky Duck! He had quite a full basket. One of m...

Nolan's first trip to the dentist

Image
On Monday, Landon and Carter had their dental check-up.  Bob was working late so I took all three boys with me.  That is always a hot mess because one goes back while I try to contain the other two in the waiting room.  Carter has only lost his one bottom tooth but the adult tooth that is coming in is jacked up.  It is coming in at such a hard angle I am nervous.  When I spoke with the dental hygienist she assured me that in time the jaw and tongue will help correct it.  I am not going to lie, I am putting away all the coins I find in the couch for Carter's braces in our future. Next, Landon went back and he too didn't have any cavities.  What a relief!  As a parent you feel like a heel if your kids get a cavity so I am trying hard to keep that far far away.  Landon was a little bummed that he didn't have any loose teeth yet. As we were getting ready to leave Nolan says, "Mommy my turn?" I said, "Nope not yet buddy."  He was so sad....

Looking for Snow in Michigan

Image
Our winter this year has really not been as cold or as snowy as years past.  I am not complaining because I love the warmer weather and not playing in the snow. However, the boys are dying to play in the snow.  We traveled up to Michigan this past weekend to visit family and we even had the chance to stay at the Lokers.  So into the snow all the kids went... Abby got a snow board for Christmas and the boys couldn't get enough of it.  I was so surprised by how well Landon was on it! Jackson is such a talker.  He and I were in the backyard and he was telling me such real stories about Bill finding a snapping turtle.  I could have listened to his stories for hours. This was too funny.  All the big kids were shoveling snow in the driveway and Owen wanted so much to do what they were doing too.  He went into the garage and grabbed the Bissel sweeper and swept the snow in the driveway. Snowboarding The kids used this...

Fondue Fun-do!!

Image
One of the last weekend's in February, the boys were invited to a bowling birthday party for Mason Rader.  We all jumped in the car and headed over to play.  The boys love bowling and it was so much fun to see them celebrate with Mason. It's a whole lot of fun!! After the party, Bob and I thought we could take the boys to the Melting Pot fondue restaurant. This was a first for the boys.  In my mind it was going to be a super fun experience that we would remember forever.  When we sat down at the table, reality quickly set in! The sharpest long forks ever are on the tables rolled with silverware which in less than three seconds became the coolest swords a boy could imagine.  They were sword fighting and clanging them all over the place.  Immediately we had to have a "family" talk about the rules at this special restaurant.  It got better from that point. The waitress was wonderful with the kids and let them watch as she poured and m...

Out in Nature

Image
Weeks ago Grandma Angie came down to visit and the weather was quite nice so we decided to head outdoors.  We traveled over to the Hudson area to hike around.  Here are some photos we took: The boys were obsessed with pulling off the icicles from the rocks and eating them of course. Typical photo with the boys…chaos! Grandma Angie helped the boys pick out the perfect walking sticks This icicle is so huge! I think we might have worn her out! We love any chance we can get being outside!!
