2 Kids Going Bump in the Night!

Yesterday Carter would not take his afternoon nap so I knew the night might be rough. Carter fell asleep after bath time with his bottle in his mouth and Landon fell asleep around the same time. That was 9:45pm and that was a sign I needed to head to bed myself. Bob decided to have a man night out by the bonfire for about 2 hrs. He arrived around 12:30 and around 1:30 Landon was wide awake. Then right then Carter started wailing because he couldn't find his pacifier. So I went in and gave him the pacifier and he was freaking out. I brought him back to our room and tried to get him to sleep but every time he heard Landon make a noise he was awake. Right when we thought they were close to sleep a train came through and our windows were open so we heard the horn blow all six times. That was all we needed to have them both up. We went downstairs with both kids and gave Carter a bottle and fed Landon and they both settled down around 3:45am. We were exhausted by that time but...

Sorry we haven't blogged in a while this whole event is taking a while get used to. Since the delivery I had a huge headache. It was so painful in the front of my head. It only didn't hurt when I was laying down. The nurses thought I should get up and try to walk around the floor to help it. Let me tell you what, that so didn't help. It made me nauseous and light hurt my head. Finally on Sunday they decided to try a blood patch. A blood patch is where they do an epidural into the hole they first did the spinal tap and inject blood to create a clot that will take pressure away from my headache. I was so excited when we finally had this procedure done at 6:45pm on Sunday night. Immediately following the procedure I had to lay flat for 2 hrs straight to make sure the clot didn't more. I finally felt better around 9:30pm but I still was not to sit up straight. Monday morning I woke up and felt much better and Bob and I took our little man and headed home. It...

Look at that hair. He'll be rockin a mullet soon enough.

He is here!

Yeah! Landon has arrived! I was getting anxious waiting to be taken back to the operating room earlier today. When the guy came to put in the spinal tap, he brought a little cup of fluid and a syringe of fluid. I chugged the fluid and he put the stuff in my IV and within a few minutes I became very on edge. It made me feel like I needed to have the surgery done at that moment because I was gonna rip some heads off if not. I went to the restroom while Bob held the IV and I said to him-"I feel like I am about to have a nervous breakdown about this surgery". He reassured me that it would be fine and that it was about to begin . Once I was in the OR they quickly got me all ready to go. I had a rush of nausea when they were taking out organs but other than that it went smoothly. When she pulled him out, Dr. Starck said, "Wow! Look at all that hair and it looks just like Bob!" I couldn't believe the amount of hair he was rockin ! 10 fingers, 10 toes and healthy-what...

The new little guy has arrived!!!

We have baby and he is great!!!!!! This is Bob blogging while Heidi is trying to rest a little. Everything went very smooth with the surgery and mama and baby are doing fantastic. He was born at 3:20.... weighed in at 7 lbs even... and was 19 inches long with a full head of dark hair. Not only did he have a full head of dark hair, but he had a dark tint to the fuzzy hair he has on his arms and back. I told Heidi that he is a manly baby with all of that hair on his back. She rolled her eyes and then took a good look at his arms and back. She started cracking up when she realized he really does have a dark tint to the hair on his back. In regards to the name..... We had been tossing around a few different names the past couple days and we finally made a decision on the way to the hospital today. Landon Joseph Boone. The name seems to fit him well. Well, have to run. I'm sure Heidi will follow up soon with her version of the day. Thanks to all of you for your support.

AHHHHH! The Waiting!

So we are in the hospital. I am hooked up to the IV getting fluids and have been questioned by every person in the maternity ward I think--wow do they all ask a lot of general information questions. While I was getting my blood drawn I was feeling like I was going to pass out-hard core. The ringing in my ears, tingling in my toes and hands, and the darkness was setting in but I didn't! Yahoo! They are running behind with the c-sections today because someone who was in labor had to have emergency c-section. I was in that boat last time so I am not upset about this at all. The waiting however is killing me. I hate down-time--does that surprise you?? Didn't think so! My parents are on their way with Carter and I am hoping to be able to hug him up a little before I head back! Dr. Starck just stopped in and said that it looks like another 30-40 minutes before we head back! Bob is getting all suited up in his scrubs to head back with me! Just a quick note to all those wh...

Quite A Scare!

Thursday night Bob and I went to have the last date night we will have in the next 12 years together. We went for dinner at Blake's seafood and saw the movie Inception. I am not to eat or drink anything after midnight so I was eating like a bear storing up for winter hibernation. I had calamari, a loaf of bread, salad, steak, shrimp, and garlic mashed potatoes. Then at the movie we of course had to get the largest popcorn and lemonade. I was so full when I got home but managed to squeeze in an Oreo Klondike. Carter was just asleep when we got home. However when he heard us he was wide awake and ready to rock. So Bob and I stayed up until about midnight playing and hanging out with him. Finally, we thought if we just took him up to our bed and laid down that he might fall asleep and we would transfer him into his bed. Bob made him a little bottle to set him to just relax and fall asleep. In bed he wanted to read a book and talk so we had to shut off all the lights and pr...

Our last weekend with an only child!

Image
This weekend we journeyed down to Columbus. We decided to head to the Columbus Zoo. I love that zoo and Bob had never been there before. Little did we know that it was going to be 90 degrees and Kidsfest at the zoo! Wow, were there a lot of people there. It was alright because everyone was sweating together! My cousins little girl, Erin, went with us and she has a zoo pass so she was our little tour guide. We saw the whole zoo and some. We saw the baby elephant and manatee. Carter was really into the zoo this time more than ever before. He was pointing and talking up a storm at each exhibit. He loves watching the fish. He said " ish " every time he would point to a fish. After the zoo we headed to my sister's house to their deck party. Edd has been working very hard on completing their deck in time for this weekend. It was beautiful. My grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles were there. It was good to see them one last time before the new baby arrives because travelin...

Trip to Gymboree

Image
I have been meaning to post about Carter's Summer Gymboree Classes. This is a division of the retail stores but this is a place where kids learn through play. They have instructors that set up different areas and complete different skills with the kids. Carter is a maniac at these classes. We heard about these classes through Kristy McClelland, who takes her son Tyler there. We went to a music class where the kids use all different instruments and sing songs. Carter was walking around constant while the other children sat quietly in the laps of their moms. I decided music class was just not active enough for Carter. So since then we have been going to "active play" classes. He loves this! He now climbs stairs, crawls through tunnels, jumps on a trampoline, and many other things. I also love going because it is a time to socialize with other moms with kids. When we leave I can almost guarantee that Carter will be asleep in the car on the way home. Our nieces are in town so...

10 days and counting!

Image
We are finally settled in and unloaded into our new house. We had some friends over this past weekend to celebrate and break in the house. It was great fun with great friends. The summer is the perfect time to hang out with friends! Thanks to all who came! So the date of July 23rd is set for the arrival of the new little guy. My doctor moved it from the 20th to the 23rd because she only wanted me to go 7 days early. I will go in that morning and have the baby late afternoon. I had asked her for details regarding time (cuz if you know me I want to have a plan set) she was unsure but promised me that she would let me know at the next appointment-which is tomorrow. Carter has been fussy and the pediatrician has mentioned that he can sense a change and that this could occur. I am not sure how much of that I believe but he is also pushing through 6 teeth, 2 of which are molars. Each night Bob and I try to talk about what we need to do before the baby arrives. Our list is long-pac...
