The Boone Boys!

On Wednesday, St. Patty's Day, we had 3 doctor appointments. The first one was Carter's 9 month check up. He know weighs 18 lbs 15 oz and is 27 inches long. He is very healthy but she did refer us to an ear, nose, and throat specialist due to the fact that he has had 5 ear infections in 3 months. She thinks that he is a prime candidate for tubes in his ears. We have mixed feelings on this surgery but have only heard positive things from others parents whose children have gone through the same thing. We will see that the specialist has to say! Then was the ultrasound at 2:30pm. Our technician was amazing. She was our age with 2 boys and we got caught up talking about our boys while we were doing the ultrasound. Everything was great and the baby is healthy. We counted fingers and toes. We had her find out the sex of the baby and print it out and put it in a card for us. We then went to my monthly pregnancy checkup with Dr. Starck . She found the heart beat very quick...

Carter's First Haircut

So, I have to confess, many people have been politely suggesting that Carter's hair is a little too long. Bob and I love the crazy look but have decided that it was starting to look like a baby mullet. It is true the only time you can legally rock a mullet is when you are a baby. Bob needed a haircut today so we decided to take Carter too! I had to hold him because Bob was getting his haircut at the same time. Carter wanted to see what she was doing at all times so he kept turning his head so we distracted him with a neck massager and his rattles. After the haircut, we drove to Norwalk's recreation center and went swimming. This was the first time that Bob got to swim with him. They didn't have a kiddie pool so there were some crazy kids playing and splashing but we still had f...

A tooth, saying mama, and standing up!

I apologize for the amount of time that has lapsed since my last post. Since then we have been working on getting teeth to break on through. Carter has been chewing, sucking, and slobbering all over everything trying to get a tooth in. He has started to be a little fussy. He is not crying in pain just kinda whining. The tooth has popped through the gums on the bottom but we can feel it but not see it yet. It's so exciting but he is not a fan of letting us look in his mouth. Just recently we started to give him bitter biscuits. These are little cookie like sticks that are very hard. Carter loves them. He will suck on it and rub it on his gums. The downside however is that they make a huge mess. He is covered in cookie mess when he is finished. He will stick it in his hair and around his eyes so we usually have one right before bathtime . Then we just take him in and hose him off. About 2 weeks ago he started babbling "mama". I am not sure if it was for real ...
