In the midst of extended time off: Week One (March 16-20)

Image
In the midst of the this coronavirus, we are not at school.  We are allowed to be outdoors but have to be within 6 feet of others "social distancing" is what it is being called. What does time off at the Boone house look like??? We explored a Metropark every day for a chance to get out of the house, breathe fresh air, and run off some of the energy these boys have. We spent time each day working hard on school work that has been assigned digitally for each one of the boys. Landon has been the hardest willingness learner of the whole household.  He gets right to work checking tasks off his list. Next we went to Shopflee Gardens in Birmingham to check out the nature hiking trails there. We ventured out a new metropark called Day's Dam.  It is a super cool waterfall in the middle of South Lorain just down from the boys baseball field. Our little free library out front of our house has been visited frequently this week.  I love seeing people out wal...

Winter Fun in Ohio

Image
The weather in Ohio during the winter can be so unpredictable. At the beginning of March we had a wonderful day full of sunshine and warmer temps so we headed over to one of our favorite places: Old Woman's Creek Nature Preserve. The boys love to climb down and explore the rivers edge. We Spotted 22 different eagles at one time. Most of which you could only see through the telescope.  Nolan discovered a skull of a creature in the leaves. We had to stop by Sherod Park on our way home to look for lucky stones and sea glass. The sunset was breathtaking! We love being outdoors together!
