The weekend of Halloween they sponser a 5k called the Skeleton Run.  The kids run 400 meters around the track before the 5k.  Nolan finished in 3rd place. Bob is encouraging Landon from the side line Landon finished in 1st place. Carter earned 3rd place. Great Job boys!!!

The Great Pumpkin Race

This is Bob.   So, you may recall that last year Carter and I decided to do the Great Pumpkin Race down in Akron.  We had an incredible time and he did quite well trying to keep a pace for the 5k.  He kept saying he didn’t want to race me, so we took it pretty easy. Then when we were in a huge crowd of runners and could see the finish line about 200 meters away he decided to turn on the jets and squeeze between the much bigger people. Needless to say, he didn’t realize who he was messing with. I wasn't about to just let him win after he told me the whole race he didn’t care if he beat me. I was able to finagle my way through and jump across the finish line before him. Later in the day I reminded him that I was proud of him for almost pulling one over on me, but that the day he beats me in a race is the day he deserves to win.   Fast forward to this year... Landon was excited to join us for the same race. We jumped in the car early in the morning and made it down to A...

Halloween 2019

Image
The Halloween holiday is one that we absolutely love and try to celebrate often with different locations and friends.  Our favorite tradition is to trick or treat at Cedar Point.  We have been coming ever since we moved back from Michigan with the boys.  It is a great event where we walk through the park after hours and stop at candy stations to trick or treat and then make a donation to a local food bank. My parents love to come up and join us for this event. Jill Bob and her granddaughter Maddie, met us this year and she loved walking around gathering candy.  The boys were so sweet to her. Matt was involved in a fund raising costume dinner that Bob and I attended as robbers!  It was a lot of fun! Early Saturday morning before trick or treat, the boys carved pumpkins in the kitchen with Aunt Katie. Trick or treat in our neighborhood happens the Saturday before Halloween.  This year it was rainy and windy but you would have never know bec...

Cedar point season pass

Image
We have been holding out for years in getting a season pass to Cedar Point. We wanted to wait until all three of the boys were 48 inches so they could ride the big rides together.  For Christmas 2018 we purchased season passes for the whole family to both Cedar Point and Cedar Shores.  We had a blast this year riding rides and splashing at the water park. Nolan was interested in riding roller coasters so what better ride to ride first that Millennium Force.  He was so excited until we got on the ride and he saw the hill.  He cried the whole way and I think I ruined his love of big roller coasters. He is the biggest thrill seeker of them all! Aunt D and her kids came during the summer and we all went to Cedar Point/Cedar Shores together!  We all had the time of our lives! Carter has been dying to ride the Top Thrill Dragster but often times when we go just me and the boys I can't ride with him.  He didn't mind at all...solo rider!  I ...
