A trip up north

Image
Right after school on Friday we jumped in the car and drug the camper up to northern Michigan to Bob's dads house.  That night we made a much needed stop about half way at Aunt Katie and Jeremy's house and much to our surprise, Aunt Katie had a scavenger hunt waiting for the boys.  They were crazy excited as they read the clues, completed the tasks, and gathered the goodies.  Early the next morning after Grandma Angie made elephant ears, we jumped back into the car and finished the trip.   We were happy to open up the camper and camp out at their house.  The boys love being outside exploring the woods, riding the Gator, and sitting by the fire.  Bob grabbed a few rafts and decided to take the boys down to the river.  Jeremy, Barb, and I took an afternoon garage sale adventure.  I snagged myself a bubbling foot massager, an office chair, and wood chips for Bob's smoker for $10...it was a good day! Back at the house, the boys had the raft in th...

Reality?

Image
I find that many times when I began to chat with others about the daily events that happen at the Boone house that they look at me in disbelief as if I'm lying to them.  The scariest part is that it's all truth...it's our reality. Take for instance: Within a week of each other Nolan flushed a Matchbox car down one bathroom toilet.  When I asked him why he said, "I wanted it to go to see the crocodiles." Now we have a overflowing toilet that is clogged and needs to be fixed.  Later that week since we were down a potty, I was cleaning the boys bathroom toilet using a new toilet bowl cleaning tool.  This stick had attachable cleaning pads that were unflushable.  However, after I scrubbed the bowl I flushed it just to see if I had missed any parts and off pops that scrubber down the toilet.  I quick stuck my hand in the toilet trying to catch it but I wasn't quick enough so it went down too.  Yep, it then overflowed onto the bathroom floor.  We are...

School is now in session

Summer has quickly come to a close but that means...back to school. Each monumental event causes me to once again reflect at quickly time passes.   The night before the big day, all the book bags are packed and ready. All three crazy boys are headed to school this year.  Don't mind Nolan's belly shirt and hand headed down his pants...not sure where he's headed? Once Nolan found out that he was getting to go to preschool he began wearing his book bag around the house randomly throughout the summer.  I tried to get him a new book bag of his choice but he was determined to use Carter's old monkey book bag. Proud Papa!  Bob traditionally takes the morning off each year so he can be there with the boys on their first day of school.  The boys love this! This year Landon will be in Mrs. Frenk's class.  (Morgan's mom) He was very happy to hear he would be spending the year learning with her. Maw Maw even made the ...

Denial...summer just can't be over

Image
I just can't believe that our summer has come to an end so quickly. Each summer we start by making a "summer bucket list" and this year was no exception. We decided to write our list on poster size post its and hang it up so we could check them off as we completed. So much fun...here are a few pictures from all of our fun Skew ball at Chuckie Cheese Many, many trips to the neighbors pool. The warmth of their pool has spoiled us.  Enjoying every national day we could: National Chocolate chip cookie day Being outdoors any chance we could get Playing silly games While pulling weeds at a friends house I got stung by a bee. He stung me by my eye and on my nose. It started climbing up my nose and I dug it out and then it flew up my shorts and stung my leg. My face was swollen up like this for about four days. Spending time with Maw Maw, my sister and her kids At the beach building sand castles,...
