Labor Day weekend

Drumroll please......It's Labor Day weekend which means LODGE RIVER RAFTING to us.  Oh how the boys look forward to this each year, and I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I look forward to it too! It's a beautiful place where we all gather with our kids for a fun memory making weekend adventure. All the cousins in attendance this year...we are missing the Vilt kids. Come back from Texas, please! Playing wiffle ball until we couldn't see at night. Trail riding on four wheelers Each year the big boys cut down all the brush so that we can successfully launch our rafts down the river.  This year they found a spot with a sandy beach. The kids could have played there all day. Maw Maw and I had a hole in our raft which was quickly deflating as we floated down the river. We have such a blast there together as a big family!

Happy first day of school

The thought of summer coming to an end is always something that gives me a bad taste in my mouth.  It takes me to a place where I want to spend all our money on scratch off lottery tickets with the dream of winning millions and being able to home school our boys on a yacht. Reality sets in that wouldn't be the best idea and I just need to suck it up buttercup and be thankful for the time we had together in June, July, and August. As the first day approaches it brings about the sensation of how quickly life is passing by as the boys are growing up.  Saying to anyone who asks, "Yes, that's right I have a fifth grader, fourth grader, and a first grader." is something that still shocks me every time. Life is good...these are the cutest, kindest, and smartest boys we have. Here's to another great school year!
