Academic Honors

Image
All three boys have been working so hard at their new school to not only make new friends but also on their academics.  We were pleasantly surprised when we learned that students in fourth grade and higher attend an academic assembly. There were quite a few levels of academic achievement that were documented and honored.  The highest honor you could be recognized for was all A's in all your subjects for each grading period.  Carter was presented with this certificate.  I took a half day off work to attend the assembly and Bob had a meeting rescheduled so he was able to be there too!   Proud Papa and Mom for sure...can't wait to see what the future holds for this hard working little dude!

Lokers Visit the Boone’s

Our friends the Lokers made a journey down to our neck of the woods for Memorial Day weekend.  We always enjoy the time we get to hang out with each other. Right now it's the cool time of the year that the kids are in age order: Abby (10), Carter (9), Landon (8), Jackson (7), Nolan (6), and Owen (5) Rain on and off throughout the days spent together kept our plans pretty low key but we still found ways to have fun.  Many games of wiffle ball in the backyard, playing catch in the front yard, games on the front porch, lazer tag in the basement, and smores by the fire. Sparklers with 6 small children is a whole bunch of fun! On Sunday we ventured over to the elementary school gym to play soccer, baseball, and basketball. Next we scored lunch on the Vermilion River at Quaker Steak and Lube...so delicious! Oh the humidity...Fun times always had when we get us all together, until next time.

Happy 6th Birthday Nolan

It's hard to believe that this little guy is really 6 years old!!! Every birthday we always let the birthday boy choose the restaurant for dinner.  He chose the Chinese buffet with crab and frog legs.  Grandma Grocho, Maw Maw, and Paw Paw came up to join us in this feast.  Birthday breakfast has recently become donuts with candles. This was the first year that the boys are able to have a friend birthday party.  We have always just had family parties at the house and they all asked for friend parties so we will see how this all goes.  Nolan chose Altitude trampoline park as the location of his bash!  It was so cute watching him interact with all of this friends! They loved playing dodgeball on the trampolines! Nolan wanted cookies for his sweet instead of cupcakes which was easy and awesome however it became quite tricky to put a candle in it.  Birthday party success!  Here 's to many more years of celebrating birthdays with...
