Baby Bump's First Snow Day!

Image
Today is our first snow day of the year! I was hoping for a snow day today and was so afraid it wouldn't happen. Every school around us cancelled before six however we were still on. Of course the second I jump in the shower and get my hair wet, I got the call. I didn't care though a snow day is still great with wet hair! I have been waking up and my stomach has been sore. I am not sure why either. Some suggest that I should start sleeping with a pillow between my legs to take away some pressure. Others say it's sore because my skin is stretching or that I am sleeping on my back at times during the night and not knowing it. It feels like I have done 800 situps --that kind of sore.

Sweet Sixteen Weeks!

Oh yeah! 16 weeks=4 months! Knock on anything that is wooden. I have had 3 good days! No nausea , no headaches, and no puking! If this keeps up I think I can handle this thing! I am still wearing my clothes! I bought these new things called bella bands--of course I got the generic brand from ebay. They are like a cloth headband for your belly. I can keep my pants unbuttoned and keep my buttcrack from showing at the same time. They are great! I got one in black, white, and brown--to go with any outfit! :) Last weekend we were traveling maniacs and it really took a toll on my body. I was stinkin exhausted and realized that I might have to slow down or just learn how to sleep in the car. My last teaching day is Friday and I am so excited. I finally told my students today that I was going to have a baby. (remember they are in first grade 6-7 yrs old) They wanted to know if I could make the baby come early so they could hold the baby soon. One student said that I should name the baby either...

Find Out or Not?

The most frequently asked question by friends, family, and strangers is...Are you going to find out the sex of the baby? From the beginning I have said that I wanted it to be a surprise. You don't get many surprises in your lifetime so this would be incredible. I wanted to choose a name for each sex and then when the baby arrived we would then know who our baby would be. Bob has wanted to know since the day we found out we were pregnant. He says that he wants to prepare for who the baby would be so he could call the bump a he or a she instead of it. Many people have told me pros and cons to either way. I don't care about making it easier for people to purchase gifts. I care about the "moment"! My life is all about the "moments". This past weekend while with people from Bob's work a woman said her and her husband had the doctor write the sex of the baby on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope. Then when they went out to dinner just the two of them ...

The First Sounds of the Heartbeat!

Monday December 1st was our second doctor's appointment. It was scheduled for 9:50am. The nurse took us back at 9:55 and the doctor did not come into 10:40am. My patience was treading very thin. Come on, that is crazy! Anyways when she did arrive it was a very quick appointment. I had a list of questions to ask her. One was, I thought on Saturday that I had felt the baby move. It was a flutter right under rib cage. It was a feeling that I had never felt before. So I asked the doctor if I could be feeling the baby and she said that it was too early. She said what i felt was gas--how embarrassing! Well, I am really looking forward to actually feeling the baby move. Before the doctor left she used the ultrasound machine to let us hear the heartbeat. At first she warned don't worry if you can't hear a heart beat we will get the visual ultrasound if we need to. However, she found it very quickly! It was beating very quickly. It sounded like someone swishing aroun...
